Itinerary
Pick up is from your cruise ship in Tauranga. Travel by air-conditioned vehicle through New Zealand's lake district on your way to Rotorua while listening a live commentary by your driver/guide.
The first stop is in the town of Tepuke which is the kiwifruit capital of New Zealand. Kiwifruit Country is a large indoor and outdoor complex dedicated to all things kiwifruit. The next stop is the magnificent Okere Falls. You may be lucky enough to see white water rafters going over the falls while you are there. Lunchtime beside Lake Rotorua is next and then explore the geothermal area of Whakarewarewa. Your local guide will lead you around the bubbling mud pools and hot springs. Then it on to a traditional Maori village and be welcomed by a dance and greeting.
Rotorua is next with a stop at Government Gardens, historical Bath House and natural hot springs. Return back to you ship with plenty of time to spare before you departure.
